La Vieja (the old one), is a big hill/small mountain on the grounds

of Fundacion Valparaiso, in Mojacar, Spain, where I spent

a memorable month.  Sitting on the hill each morning I was able to draw it and the view below. The resulting paintings are part

of a group developed from this series of drawings. Some, in acrylic, were painted in my studio there. Others, in oil, were made later in my NY studio.
